or by Zoom Call

Portland Psychological Services is operated by C. David Maxey, M.A., Licensed Independent Psychologist Associate (Oregon Board of Psychology License 5067). He specializes in Clinical Psychology for children, teens, and young adults (approximately ages 4 to 25) and has extensive experience providing mental health services to children and youth over the past 24 years. His evidence-based approach to therapy is individualized to each client’s needs, rather than following a step-by-step manual-based approach. He incorporates scientifically supported treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent Management Training (PMT), and Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (formerly known as Collaborative Problem Solving).

New Clients

New Client Inquiry Phone Call
If you’d like to discuss my services and how they might fit with your needs, schedule a phone call during my mid-day block for calls and asynchronous work. Alternatively, you can call 503‑928‑4182 at your convenience to leave a voicemail for a callback. I usually return calls on the same or next day between 9am and 7pm, excluding weekends and holidays.

Appointments for Therapy and Other Services
During the school year, I offer appointments for therapy and other services after school hours, which I’m able to do by working during the school day as the Director of Student Support at a top-performing K-8 public charter school, which is separate from my private practice work.
